Celebrating 90 Wonderful Years with Rupert!
At Crosby Park Meals on Wheels, we’re lucky to have some truly incredible volunteers—and Rupert Lee is one of them! A dedicated member of our team for 17 years, Rupert recently celebrated his 90th birthday, and we were thrilled to mark the occasion with him.
Rupert has done far more than just deliver meals over the years. From 2009 to 2011, he served on our Management Committee, helping to shape the service we provide. But what truly sets Rupert apart is his kindness and commitment to our clients. Time and again, after finishing his deliveries, he would return to check on clients if something didn’t seem quite right. He became a friendly helping hand to many elderly widows along his route, changing light globes, fixing door latches, and even mowing lawns.
Even at 90, Rupert remains an active member of his local Probus Association—and he’s recruited more than a few fellow members to volunteer with us (though none have matched his staying power!).
Rupert is the perfect example of our motto: Meals on Wheels is about more than just a meal. His dedication, generosity, and heart make a real difference in our community.
