Subject: RESPONSE - Grandfathered
client who do not give consent
[SEC=OFFICIAL]
Hi Rachael
Thank you for your query about the Commonwealth
Home Support Programme (CHSP) grandfathered clients project.
If a client is unable to provide consent to provide
their personal information, their information will not be collected. There will
be no change to their current service delivery and no further action is
required. You should continue to report your clients in DEX – this project is
only for the creation of a My Aged Care client record and does not affect your
reporting requirement.
Kind regards

Subject: Grandfathered client who do not give consent [SEC=No Protective
Marking]
Hi
I would like to ask for those grandfathered client who do not give consent, the effect on their service provision under Meals at home?
Guidance material states:
Privacy and consent considerations
Clients (or authorised person) will need to provider their consent to provide their personal information for the purposes of this project. Providers should make every effort to record that a client’s consent has been provided. This can include recording a conversation, keeping a signed consent form, or other method the provider sees fit. See below for privacy notice and consent instructions.
If a client does not provide their consent, their information cannot be included in the template. They will continue to receive services.
Would these clients who have not given consent and therefore not included in the upload to the My Aged Care Portal, still receive the funded pricing for the services they receive even though they will not be registered on My Aged Care? Would these clients who have not given consent still be reported under DEX?
Thank you for your insight into these question as we just wish to clarify before providing any advice to Member Services or clients.
